Bio

Gianluigi Viscusi received a master’s degree in philosophy from the Università degli Studi di Milano  in 2001, with a thesis on the thought of the French philosopher Michel Foucault (supervisor Prof. Carlo Sini).

In November 2007 he received a PhD in Information Society from University of Milano Bicocca (thesis title   ‘SERVICE, ICT, VALUE – A value based framework to support the preliminary design and planning of ICT enabled services’. Supervisor Prof. Giorgio De Michelis – Tutor Prof. Carlo Batini).

He has been post-doc research fellow at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication (DISCo) of the University of Milan Bicocca from 2007 to 20013.

He has been research fellow and lecturer at Chair of Corporate Strategy and Innovation (CSI) of the EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, from December 2013 to April 2020.

He is currently Universitetslektor at Linköping University, Sweden and senior research fellow at the Imperial College Business School, London, UK.

  • Cognitive Economy and Digital Innovation (focus on digital platforms and ecosystems)
  • Valuation and co-creation in science and technology innovation (focus on robotics)
  • Policy and Technology Innovation (focus on social value and open government)
  • Information production and information value

The domains of application include the public sector, media and entertainment, financial sector, manufacturing, and utilities.
